Pastoral Care

Walking with God’s People in Every Season of Life

Through compassionate presence, prayer and accompaniment, we serve God’s people in moments of joy, suffering, transition and loss. Across our archdiocese, pastoral care is shared by clergy, religious and lay ministers who are called to reflect Christ’s love and mercy to all.

The Office of Evangelization and Discipleship collaborates with ministry leadership and parishes to promote and sustain effective outreach for a variety of specialized needs. We provide support, training and resources for parish leaders so they may effectively attend to those entrusted to their care.

Addiction and Substance Abuse

Many kinds of help are available for addiction and substance abuse, including self-education, self-help groups and professional therapy.

Please share the following resources with those in your community in need:

Adoption support is available through Springs of Love, which helps Catholics discern their call to foster and adopt.

Additional resources are available from the USCCB and Respect Life Ministry.

Bereavement

Online bereavement ministry training is available through our partnership with the Association of Catholic Mental Health Ministers (CMHM). The program, called “Accompanying Those Who Mourn,” is a training designed for parish and Catholic community leaders who want to start or further a bereavement ministry.
