Supporting Parishes in North and Central Georgia

While the parish remains the center of faith life for most individuals and families, the church maintains a structure of support and collaboration between parishes, the bishops’ offices and the staff of the Chancery.

Parishes are grouped into deaneries. The Deans communicate with the bishops and ministry leaders at the Chancery and pass information and support on to the pastors of the parishes in their deanery. In this way, deaneries within the Archdiocese of Atlanta work together to serve the pastoral, sacramental and administrative needs of our Catholic community. This helps to ensure that every parish receives the support, communication and collaboration it needs to thrive.
