Planning and Research

Building Our Church with Data, Collaboration and Faith

The Office of Planning and Research provides meaningful information to help the Archdiocese of Atlanta identify the needs of its parishes and respond strategically.

Our office collects, analyzes and visualizes data for internal and external sources. Some ways we do this include coordinating October Mass counts, collecting sacraments by location, capturing annual household counts, calculating census demographics within parish boundaries and estimating total Catholics.

Our primary services include:

  • Data Dissemination: Provide data to departments and parishes as needed. *Individual locations access information for their specific parish or mission.
  • Data Visualization: Generate reports or presentations illustrating trends that impact the archdiocese or specific locations.
  • Mapmaking: Create parishioner address maps or digital posters upon request. Provide free access to GPS software for local use and analysis. Maintain the digital public parish boundary map.

For questions or more information, please contact our office.
