Don Paolo Ravaglia of the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Causes of Saints will offer a special presentation on Monday, June 29, from 6:30-8 p.m. in McDonough Hall at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The evening will begin with 6 p.m. Mass, followed by a wine and cheese reception before the presentation. RSVP at hsccatl.com/rsvp if you will attend.
Don Paolo will share insights into two significant upcoming beatifications: Archbishop Fulton Sheen, whose beatifications is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, and the Georgia Martyrs, who will be beatified on Saturday, October 31.
Archbishop Sheen was one of the most influential Catholic evangelists of the twentieth century, reaching millions through this preaching, writing and pioneering the use of television. The Georgia Martyrs—five Franciscan missionaries and their companions who have their lives for the faith in colonial Georgia—offer a powerful witness to the Church’s earliest history in our region.
This is a unique opportunity to hear from a representative of the Vatican office responsible for the causes of saints and to gain a deeper appreciation of these historic beatifications. We are honored to welcome Don Paolo and look forward to the insights he will share.
