The Quest seeks World Cup volunteers

Date: May 29, 2026

From: Carol Tiarsmith, president, AM 1160 The Quest

In June and July, Atlanta will welcome the visitors during the FIFA World Cup, bringing with it a unique missionary opportunity for our local Catholic Church.

AM 1160 The Quest Atlanta Catholic radio will have a Catholic booth at the former CNN Center in downtown Atlanta during the ATL Experience, an initiative expected to welcome thousands from many nations, cultures and backgrounds.

We prayerfully invite the entire Archdiocese of Atlanta to join us in supporting this evangelization effort through prayer, promotion, volunteer service and, especially, through the presence of priests at the booth during peak times.

Depending on the space available and the level of privacy that can be provided, we also hope to offer the sacrament of reconciliation as a meaningful opportunity for visitors seeking spiritual support during the event.

For many who stop by, this booth may become an unexpected encounter with Christ and His Church—a moment to ask questions, receive prayer or simply experience the joy and welcome of the Catholic faith. Even a brief conversation, a blessing or a few hours of service could have a lasting impact on someone searching for hope, peace or healing.

Together, let us show the world the welcoming heart of the Catholic Church in Atlanta and bring the Gospel beyond the walls of our parishes.

Thank you for your prayers, generosity and missionary spirit.

Thank you so much for your help.
