The Rev. Msgr. Larry J. Droll Scholarship for Catholic Laity, established in 2002, assists Catholic laymen and laywomen pursuing a graduate degree in theology and Church-related professions that might qualify them for professional positions in parish diocesan ministry.
The scholarship will be awarded to those in need of tuition assistance for additional education who serve or want to serve their parish as an administrator, youth minister, parish coordinator or other role. Students must be enrolled, in-person or remote, in an accredited graduate program at a Catholic University in the United States and have already obtained their bachelor’s degree. Applicants must also be practicing Roman Catholics who reside in a state in which Catholic Life Insurance is licensed to operate. These states include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas.
