Ash Wednesday Day of Reflection
Wednesday, February 18, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center, Sandy Springs, GA
Directed by Fr. Jim Fleming, SJ
Attend a day of reflection on Ash Wednesday that includes insightful contemplations, silence and Mass with distribution of ashes. This gathering launches the 40 days of Lent that prepares us to celebrate Easter. Ashes are a sign of our own mortality and a cry to be redeemed from sin and death. And they point to a day of resurrection, where Christ himself responds to sin with forgiveness, and where in his own death Christ opens for us all the promise of life beyond death. Come share this day of reflection where together we look at the humble stance of one who takes ashes upon oneself. Then look at the journey of Lent itself, as it calls us to repent and find healing for our sinfulness. Finally, see the promise of companionship with Christ, which is the gift given us as we enter the waters of baptism and share with Jesus the promise of life everlasting. This is a silent day of reflection.

Sunday, February 22 – Tuesday, February 24
Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center, Sandy Springs, GA
Directed by Andy Otto, MA
Lent isn’t a time for punishment, but a path to spiritual freedom. This retreat takes a journey from the heaviness of fear and resentment into the light of purpose and mission. Drawing deeply from the wisdom of the Spiritual Exercises, we will explore how to detach from the “thorns” choking our spiritual lives, find God’s presence even in the darkness of the cross, and embrace a mission fueled by love rather than obligation. Come discover the freedom to let go of what binds you and the courage to say, “Give me only your love and your grace, that is enough for me. This is a silent retreat.
